The Blue Bayou is one of the most unique restaurants you can eat at while visiting Disneyland. It is located INSIDE the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and the atmosphere is amazing. The restaurant is also rather upscale, especially in terms of theme park dining. And when you’re eating a fancy dinner, you might want a glass of wine or a nice cocktail to go with it. But Disneyland is a historically dry theme park, per Walt’s request. So do they even serve alcohol at Blue Bayou in Disneyland? Here’s the short answer:
They do not serve alcohol at Blue Bayou in Disneyland: no beer, wine, or hard liquor. But you can get specialty non-alcoholic drinks like their famous Mint Julep. The only place to get alcohol in Disneyland itself is at Oga’s Cantina, the bar in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
So while the Blue Bayou does not serve alcohol, the atmosphere and the food is still very worth the visit, in my opinion. However, there are other restaurants in Downtown Disney or DCA (Disney’s California Adventure park across from Disneyland) that do serve alcohol. Or you could stop by Oga’s Cantina for a before or after dinner drink and still dine at Blue Bayou. Keep reading for all of the details of what is served at Blue Bayou, and where to find alcohol elsewhere.

Rather Than Serving Alcohol at Blue Bayou, Non-Alcoholic Beverages Take Spotlight
While the Blue Bayou does not serve alcohol, they do serve two delicious non-alcoholic specialty drinks. The first is the Mint Julep which is a staple Disneyland food item. Even though Mint Juleps outside of Disneyland are usually alcoholic, they are definitely not so at the Blue Bayou, or anywhere on Disneyland property. Instead, they are more so like lemonade with a slight minty flavor.
If you come to Disneyland, you MUST try the Mint Julep. So why not try it while basking in the Blue Bayou atmosphere. That is precisely one of my favorite Disneyland memories from a recent trip. And even better…Mint Juleps at Blue Bayou are free refills, unlike the Mint Julep stand outdoors in New Orleans Square!
The second non-alcoholic specialty drink is the Louisiana Lemonade which is a mix of Minute Maid Lemonade, Sprite, mango and raspberry flavors. With either of these two specialty drinks at Blue Bayou, you can have them served with a special glow cube. Which is extra fun in the dark Blue Bayou atmosphere. And finally, besides these two non-alcoholic specialties, Blue Bayou does serve the full range of sodas as well.
The Only Other Place That Serves Alcohol Inside Disneyland
Disneyland was a dry park until very recently when Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opened in summer 2019. Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is the ONLY place that you can get an alcoholic beverage inside Disneyland.
Well, it is the only place that the average park goer like you or I can get an alcoholic beverage. There is also Club 33 in New Orleans Square, but that is an exclusive members only club. One that requires annual membership fees of over $10,000!
So excluding Club 33, Oga’s Cantina is your only option for drinks in Disneyland. However, Oga’s Cantina does not serve food like Blue Bayou does. It is really only a bar (though they do have a snack mix or a charcuterie plate to enjoy with your drinks). So I would not recommend that you skip Blue Bayou for Oga’s Cantina. Instead, it is probably best to combine the two with either before or after dinner drinks at Oga’s, and the meal portion at Blue Bayou.

If Not Serving Alcohol at Blue Bayou Is a Dealbreaker, Try These Restaurants Instead
If you’re looking for a restaurant that serves alcohol in Disneyland, you will need to go outside of the park. Either to the Disneyland hotels, Downtown Disney, or to DCA. Any restaurant that you choose in any location, the hotels, DCA, or Downtown Disney, there will most definitely be alcohol served. Here are some of the best fan favorites:
- Carthay Circle in DCA
- If you’re looking for a similar upscale Disney feel with alcohol, Carthay Circle is the place to go. While you’re there, try the Pimm’s Punch!
- Reservations are recommended here
- Catal in Downtown Disney
- One of the best restaurants in Downtown Disney, in my opinion. The food and drinks are both great! Catal also has fantastic Happy Hour specials from 3pm-5pm every day.
- GCH Craftsman Bar and Grill at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel
- The best Disneyland hotel bar with full service food as well. Located outside right next to the Grand Californian Hotel pool, the atmosphere and the food and drinks are exceptional!
