For many people, when you mention the word “hotel,” an image of late night indoor pool swimming sessions pop into mind. Which is why it is understandable that one of the most frequent requests I get as a travel agent is to find a hotel with an indoor pool at Disney World. Unfortunately though, I wish I could say that was an easy thing to provide…
There are no hotels with indoor pools at Disney World. The pools at Disney Resorts are all outdoors, but are heated year round to 82 degrees fahrenheit. You’ll need to stay in a third party hotel offsite from Disney property in order to have access to an indoor pool.
While you may need to change your original lodging plans a bit in order to find a place with an indoor pool near Disney World, it can still be done. Keep reading for all of the details you need to know about the pools at the official Disney hotels, and which hotels DO have indoor pools.
There Are No Disney Resorts with Indoor Pools
Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL has over 25 different Disney Resort hotels on property. Though despite the vast number of hotel options onsite, there are no Disney hotels with indoor pools.
Disney property is huge (over 25,000 acres total), and there are a few hotels on Disney property that are not owned by Disney itself. For example, there’s the Swan and Dolphin Hotel owned by Marriott, or the Bonnet Creek Resort owned by Hilton. However, none of these third party hotels that are ON Disney property have indoor pools either unfortunately.
Alternative 1: Disney World Resort Pools Are Heated and Can Be Used Year Round Like Indoor Pools
Even though you won’t be able to rely on the controlled temperatures of an indoor pool while staying at the Disney Resorts, you can be sure that at least the water temperature will be controlled. All Disney Resort pools are continually heated to 82 degrees Fahrenheit year round.

In addition to the Disney Resort hotel pools being heated year round, the pools and slides at both Disney water parks are heated also. And they’re open year round too. Check out my full article about visiting the Disney water parks in the winter here for the best tips on how to do so.
With the Disney Resort pools being constantly heated, along with the favorable Florida weather, it’s not much of a surprise that there are no indoor pools onsite at Disney World.
Average Outdoor Temperature of the Disney World Resort by Month
So the heated pools combined with the typical Florida weather add up to being able to swim whenever you want while staying at a Disney Resort. In fact, the average temperature, as seen below, generally does not fall below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Alternative 2: Third Party Hotels Near Disney World That Have Indoor Pools
If having an indoor pool at your hotel is important to you on your Disney World vacation, you will need to choose a third party hotel OFF of Disney property. I’ve checked every hotel in reasonable distance from Walt Disney World and have listed the options with indoor pools below, sorted by distance to the parks.
Keep in mind that during the pandemic, some hotels may be limiting available amenities for safety reasons or government regulations. Be sure to check with the hotel to make sure the indoor pool will be open during your trip if it is important to you.
In my experience, the best way to get an answer is by calling the hotel’s front desk to ask. For ease of access, I’ve linked each hotel’s website that lists their phone number and other information.

A Lack of Indoor Pools at Disney World Doesn’t Have To Ruin Your Trip
So with the heated pools at the official Disney Resorts, and the six other hotel options near Walt Disney World that do have indoor pools, I am confident that your travel group can find a lodging option that fulfills everyone’s pool needs. And hopefully the Florida weather will be so perfect for your trip that you won’t even need to bother with the indoor pool. Unless of course, you’re a junkie for that indoor pool chlorine smell, then by all means…
